After more than three years of hard work, we’re finally back in the water! Windhorse II is floating again, stronger and better than new.
We left nothing untouched in this refit. Every last bit of the boat has been restored and updated. It’s been a long process in the brutal South Florida heat and humidity. We’ve dodged numerous tropical cyclones. Along the way we’ve made a lot of new friends and have enjoyed tremendous support from the boatyard staff.
For now we’re at Safe Harbour Marina on Stock Island (Key West). We have a couple of months of work still to do–lots of minor details including rig tuning and testing our new sails and systems. We also need some time for provisioning, getting organized on the boat, and entertaining visiting friends and family before we set sail.
It is so good to be floating again!
